Scott Moon

Director of Production
Production Stage Manager
(Il Don Giovanni)

A native Hoosier, Scott developed two deep loves in his teen years: choral singing and theatrical production. Balancing these seemingly disparate interests through college, the two finally melded into a career in opera stage management.

Beginning with summer stock theater, he continued into varied stage management roles at Chicago Opera Theater, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Chautauqua Opera, Santa Fe Opera, and Florida Grand Opera before landing at the Metropolitan Opera where he was honored to serve as a member of the stage management staff for 34 years.

His repertoire has ranged from Handel to Wagner to Thomas Ades and many more in between, with directors such as Franco Zeffirelli, Robert Carsen, Bartlett Sher and Phelim McDermott.

Having retired from full time work at the Met, he now looks forward to interesting short term theatrical projects, choral singing and enjoying the outdoors through hiking and cycling.
