May 18 - Teatro Nuovo announced today that soprano Amanda Woodbury will sing the role of Amenaide in Tancredi, opposite Tamara Mumford and Santiago Ballerini, on July 28 and August 3.

Ms. Woodbury replaces the previously scheduled Sydney Mancasola, who has asked to be released from her contract to be at the side of a family member facing serious illness. We send heartfelt best wishes to Sydney and her family, and we look forward to being dazzled by Amanda's "liquid trills and fluidly cascading passagework" (Opera News).

More information about this exciting young singer can be found here and here.  In the meantime if you are able to visit the Spoleto Festival USA (Charleston) you can catch her in the title role of a wonderful Donizetti rarity, Pia de' Tolomei.
